Favorite place to get Indian food. Love that most of the dishes are gluten free. The flavors are wonderful. The staff is so kind.

Excellent food, portions were generous and the positive reviews we read were accurate. We started with the vegetable soup which was tasty and piping hot and an appetizer of vegetable pakora both of which were delicious. I had the Himalayan Biryani and my wife had the salmon Tandoori both were outstanding. We also shared Onion Naan which was among the best naan that we have ever had. We love Indian food and eat it frequently all over the world and this restaurant is the real deal, I highly recommend eating here! We aren't people who normally leave a restaurant with a doggie bag but we did tonight which is a testament to the size of the portions. We will be back soon!

Stopped in after some time watching the sunset at Carlsbad Beach. I came in late and was worried if I could get seated, but they were very accommodating and even helped with my gluten-free request. It was a fantastic meal with tons of flavor and the service was fantastic. Also, very reasonable for being dinner

I wish I could rate the food separate from the service. Five stars for the food. We've eaten at many Indian restaurants over the years and I'd have to say that our food was one of the best we've ever had. Portion sizes were perfect and shrimp was tender and tasted fresh. Plenty of meat in both dishes. Six extra large shrimp in mine. The place was very clean, including the bathrooms. Prices were good. Our dishes were in the $15-16 range (as of June 2024).

Chicken and shrimp masala were outrageous. The naan out of this world. This is a gem. Please visit! It will blow your mind.

Long long ago, there were zero Indian/Nepalese restaurants in my hood. ZERO. The only time I could get some was either at the Sunset Market on Thursdays (the one Indian booth is gone now) and Taste of the Himalayas in Carlsbad. Thankfully both were good options. A few years ago, thankfully some started to pop up here and there. Last night I decided to do a Door Dash order for Himalayan Sherpa Cuisine, which is one I haven't tried before. We ordered samosas, garlic naan, lamb biryani, and butter chicken. The Samosas were slightly salty, but still very good. My husband loved the lamb biryani. I had the butter chicken. I have to be honest, there isn't a place I've gotten butter chicken or chicken tikka masala where the chicken wasn't dry. It's because they all have chicken breast chunks, which we all know breast can very easily get dry as hell. I don't know if there is a reason that chicken thighs or a juicier meat cut couldn't be used, but they are all like this. The butter chicken sauce though? Ahhhmaaaaazzzziiing! I was soaking the naan with the sauce eating it even when I was stuffed just because I just couldn't stop. I even grabbed some regular bread I had when I ran out of naan. Thankfully I still had some left and just finished it up for breakfast. Himalayan Sherpa Cuisine is solid and definitely worth your time.
